Incredible Years Autism (IYA)

The Incredible Years Autism programmes are part of a series of interlocking, evidence-based programmes for caregivers, children and teachers, supported by over 30 years of research. The Incredible Years Autism is a 14 session programme for caregivers, and the Incredible Years Helping Children with Autism is a separate 6-session programme for kaiako, of children aged 2-5 on the autism spectrum. Together, they aim to promote children’s emotional regulation, positive social interactions and language development.
Incredible Years for Teachers (IYT)

The Incredible Years Teacher (IYT) programme provides teachers with approaches to help create a more positive learning environment for their students. It is based on strengthening teacher classroom management strategies, promoting children’s pro social behaviour and school readiness. The programme is for teachers of children aged 3–8 years. IYT is delivered by Ministry staff together with key delivery partners – Resource Teacher Learning and Behaviour (RTLB).
Bilingual Assessment Service (BAS)

You may be concerned about an English language Learner (ELL) in your school who is not progressing as expected. If a student has been in the school system for two terms, with extra support through ESOL funding and still does not progress, you may be able to apply for the Bilingual Assessment Service (BAS).
Special Assessment Conditions (SAC)

Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) can provide extra help for otherwise capable students in addressing various barriers to achievement in assessments for NCEA or New Zealand Scholarship.
SAC helps students fairly demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding when being assessed without providing an unfair advantage over other students.
Submissions for SAC are made by schools to NZQA on behalf of students.
SAC support is available for both internal and external assessments.
